EXPANDED PAEPI MISSION

                                                                                                    Vision

PAEPI is a leading professional association on research-based extension programs in the Philippines and in the Asia Pacific Region and Beyond through Global partnerships.

Mission

PAEPI advances and advocates the professionalization of Extension Program Implementers as a career and as a service provider in four (4) development areas: Socio-welfare; Socio-economic; Environmental and Infrastructure /Technology for innovation, productivity, and sustainability.

Goal

PAEPI as key player or catalyst in 5 Ps.

 People Empowerment for

Sustainable Development on this Planet

in Global Partnerships for Peace and Prosperity

General Objectives

          1. Elevate extensions to a level of discipline vital to effective individual and social transformation.

         2. Build and upgrade the capabilities and professionalism of the extension program

Expanded PAEPI Mission

The extension is one of the important trilogy functions of higher education institutions(HEIS).

Vis-à-vis instruction and in light of recent technological advancement, extension complements and fills in the gaps left by instruction especially for those who, for varied reasons, cannot access formal instruction to gain individual transformation.

Extensionists are employed in both private and government institutions to become agents of change.

As agents of change, extensionists should process the appropriate knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices (KASPs) to effectively perform. Capability building of extensionists to meet the challenging tasks of changing people and communities becomes a continuous process. Furthermore, extensionists as catalyst agents of change must think and act as professionals and should be well-versed in the accepted theories and practices of their job.

To formalize the theories and principles of extension and integrate these into actual practice, PAEPI envisions elevating extension to the level of discipline so that its practitioners, the extensionists, become well-equipped in the science and art of extension and to become wholly integrated professional extensionists. The demand is great for an extensionist who is a true professional in the execution of his duties and functions in the work environment.

In the task of meeting this demand, PAEPI’s mission is to bring the extension to the level of discipline and as a profession by continuous research and capability building that will contribute significantly to the development of professional extensionists with tested practices grounded on acceptable theories, principles, approaches, methodologies, and techniques of community extension.
